Description
A set of four vintage Bordallo Pinheiro pink cabbage leaf plates showcases the brand's distinctive craftsmanship in ceramic tableware. Each plate, measuring 10.75 inches in diameter, is meticulously shaped and textured to mimic the natural veining and form of cabbage leaves, a hallmark of Bordallo Pinheiro’s playful yet elegant design approach. The vibrant pink glaze is uniformly applied, providing a striking backdrop that enhances the intricate leaf pattern molded into the ceramic. The glaze on these plates is remarkably well-preserved, exhibiting a consistent sheen and depth of color that attests to the quality of the original materials and firing process. Minor surface wear is evident, consistent with gentle use over time, yet there are no visible chips or cracks, indicating careful handling by previous owners. The edges and relief details remain crisp, underscoring the precision of the original molding. This set is not only suitable for use but also serves as a decorative statement, embodying both the whimsical charm and functional artistry that Bordallo Pinheiro is celebrated for.
