Description

A vintage Baker Campaign chest crafted from wood and metal, embodying the refined aesthetic the brand is known for. The piece features a warm, original wood finish with an attractive patina that speaks to its age and authenticity. The grain is subtly pronounced, adding a layer of visual texture to the chest's clean, rectilinear form. Metal hardware, exhibiting a consistent age-related patina, provides a striking contrast to the lighter wood, with corner brackets and recessed handles that are both functional and decorative. The chest’s proportions, measuring 38 inches in width, 32 inches in height, and 19 inches in depth, offer a compact yet substantial presence. The joinery is precise, maintaining the piece’s structural integrity, while the edges show minor scuffs and light wear, commensurate with age. Each drawer opens smoothly, revealing the craftsmanship Baker is celebrated for, as confirmed by the original maker's mark found inside. This campaign chest is a testament to Baker's legacy of quality and design, blending utilitarian form with elegant detailing, ideal for those appreciating the nuanced character of vintage furniture.
