Description
Crafted by Warren Platner, this iconic coffee table exemplifies his distinctive marriage of modernist design and sculptural form. The table features a circular glass top, clear and intact, resting elegantly upon a chrome base comprised of a series of vertical rods, which create a visually striking, hourglass silhouette. Platner's design, renowned for its harmonious balance between sturdiness and delicacy, is unmistakably present in this piece. The chrome base exhibits a consistent patina with minor surface wear, indicative of age and adding a layer of character to the table. Despite some areas of rust on the chrome, the structure remains sound and visually compelling. These elements are consistent with Platner's vision of transforming steel into a material of grace and transparency. Measuring 35 inches in diameter and 15 inches in height, this table is both a functional and artistic element within any setting. Its condition is very good, with the glass top free from chips or cracks. The enduring appeal of Platner's design lies in its ability to blend seamlessly with a variety of interiors, underscoring his legacy in modern furniture design.
