Description

A vintage stacked rattan coffee table crafted in the aesthetic tradition of Paul Frankl, this piece presents a harmonious blend of natural materials and geometric design. The table features a robust square form with rounded edges, emphasizing the warm, honeyed tones of the rattan and wood. The stacked rattan construction, a hallmark of Frankl-inspired design, creates a striking visual rhythm, accentuated by the open, airy spaces between each layer. The original finish exhibits a warm patina that speaks to its age, with the surface showcasing minor scuffs and light wear along the edges, adding character without detracting from its overall appeal. The wood grain is subtle yet distinct, lending an organic texture that complements the smoothness of the rattan. Structurally sound, the table rests on four sturdy feet, ensuring stability and durability. Measuring 42 inches in width and depth and standing 15 inches high, the table is both functional and stylish, suitable for a variety of interior settings. Its condition remains very good, with no significant damage or repairs noted, making it a distinguished example of mid-20th-century design, embodying both form and function.
