Description

A set of four vintage silhouette portraits, expertly framed in black lacquered wood, showcases the timeless artistry of cut paper portraiture. Each silhouette, delicately preserved beneath its original glass, features exquisite profiles rendered in dark paper, with subtle age-related discoloration adding a layer of historical charm. The silhouettes are well-composed, capturing the elegant contours and intricate details of attire and hairstyle. The frames are crafted from wood, finished with a lustrous black lacquer that provides a striking contrast to the silhouettes. Brass rings at the top of each frame offer a classic hanging solution, with a gentle patina enhancing their vintage character. Light tarnishing and minor surface wear on both the glass and brass elements are consistent with careful preservation over time, ensuring that these pieces retain their authentic appeal. Measuring 4.75 inches in width and 6.5 inches in height, each piece is compact yet impactful, making them ideal for an intimate gallery display. This cohesive set invites admiration for both its craftsmanship and the evocative simplicity of silhouette art, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. Well-preserved and ready for display, these portraits embody a refined aesthetic that is both understated and evocative.
