Description
A vintage Chinese Chippendale folding screen, crafted from rattan, embodies the geometric elegance characteristic of the style. This screen features three panels, each showcasing a striking lattice design of intersecting diagonal lines above a base of vertical rattan rods, creating a balanced visual harmony. The natural rattan finish has developed a warm patina over time, imparting a sense of history and authenticity to the piece. The craftsmanship is evident in the precise alignment and joinery, with the rattan strips seamlessly integrated into the overall structure. Minor surface scuffs and slight wear, particularly at the base, are consistent with the screen's age but do not detract from its structural integrity or aesthetic appeal. The hinges are unobtrusive, allowing for smooth folding and unfolding, and exhibit a patina that complements the rattan's hue. Standing at 72 inches tall, this screen offers both decorative and functional versatility, ideal for adding a touch of classic design to a space. Its condition, showing no visible repairs or losses, speaks to its careful preservation over the years, making it a valuable addition for those who appreciate vintage craftsmanship and design.
