Description
Pair of vintage Louis XVI style armchairs crafted from wood and upholstered in a distinctive printed fabric, embodying the neoclassical elegance typical of the period. Each chair features a gently curved backrest and elegantly carved armrests, finished with subtle fluting that echoes the refined aesthetic of French design. The original wood finish exhibits a warm patina, consistent with age, complemented by minor scuffs and wear, particularly on the legs and armrests, which add character without compromising structural integrity. The upholstery is a striking element, showcasing a unique print that has mellowed over time, resulting in a soft, faded appearance. While the velvet and fabric display some discoloration, this patina lends an authentic vintage charm. The plush velvet on the armrests retains a vibrant green hue, providing a pop of color that contrasts beautifully with the more neutral tones of the seat and backrest. Despite the cosmetic discoloration of the fabric, the chairs remain in solid structural condition, offering comfort and stability. These armchairs are well-suited for those who appreciate the inherent beauty of vintage materials and craftsmanship, though reupholstery could be considered for a refreshed appearance.
