Description
A pair of vintage hand-painted glass apothecary jars, these pieces showcase a charming depiction of dandies in leisurely repose. The glass has a warm, olive hue, lending a distinct period feel, while the hand-painted decoration remains vibrant, featuring meticulously detailed figures in period attire. Each jar is adorned with delicate white scroll motifs that enhance its whimsical elegance. Standing at 15 inches tall, the jars present an impressive silhouette, with lids topped by finials, echoing traditional apothecary forms. The paintwork captures the light beautifully, giving the figures a lifelike presence. The jars are in very good condition, with original glass and decoration intact, though one jar bears a small chip on the front, as noted by the owner. Minor surface wear, including light scuffs and small nicks, is present, consistent with their age, yet they remain structurally sound and display-ready. These jars are a testament to skilled craftsmanship, evident in the intricate hand-painting and the balanced design. They offer a glimpse into the past, merging utility with artistry, and would make a striking addition to a collection of vintage glassware or apothecary items.
