Description
This vintage 1928 still life painting, executed in oil on canvas, captures a serene composition featuring a robust green jug nestled among clusters of ripe grapes. The artist's skillful use of light and shadow creates a harmonious balance, drawing attention to the rich emerald hue of the jug, which contrasts elegantly with the deep purples of the grapes. The surrounding cloth, rendered in soft, textured brushstrokes, introduces a sense of depth and softness to the scene. Encased in a wooden frame, the painting measures 32.5 inches in width and 27.25 inches in height, with a depth of 1.5 inches. The frame itself, made from a richly grained wood, showcases a subtle patina that enhances its vintage appeal. Minor wear consistent with age is visible but does not detract from the overall presentation. The frame remains intact, providing a sturdy and fitting border that complements the artwork. The painting is in very good condition, with a well-preserved surface that shows minimal signs of aging. No visible damage or restoration is needed, ensuring that the piece is ready for display. This work offers a glimpse into the past, capturing a moment of stillness and beauty through its thoughtful composition and execution.
