Description
Vintage undersea print set in a finely carved wooden frame, reflecting early to mid-20th century craftsmanship. The frame, carved with a repeating leaf motif, exhibits a rich, original patina, indicative of careful preservation. The wood grain shows a deep, warm tone, accentuated by minor scuffs and wear that are consistent with its age, enhancing its character and authenticity. The print itself is well-preserved, showcasing detailed undersea creature illustrations with clear, crisp lines. The paper exhibits no significant discoloration, suggesting it has been protected from exposure to light and moisture. The glass is intact, free of scratches or chips, ensuring the artwork remains undistorted and secure. Measuring 21 inches in width by 24.5 inches in height, the proportions of the piece create a balanced presence, suitable for display in various settings. The overall condition is very good, with the wear on the frame adding to its vintage appeal without detracting from its visual integrity. The thoughtful combination of artistry and artisan woodwork makes this piece a fine example of period design and craftsmanship.
