Description
This extraordinary vintage pedestal table is a true collector’s piece, blending mid-century sculptural form with the delicate beauty of natural history. The circular top features a stunning, hand-applied mosaic of genuine iridescent butterfly wings, meticulously arranged in a kaleidoscopic floral pattern. Shimmering with vibrant blues, purples, and earthy ochres, the artwork is preserved beneath a protective surface, creating a captivating focal point that shifts brilliantly with the light. This rare "Cabinet of Curiosities" style piece evokes a sense of wonder and sophisticated global flair, making it an ideal choice for eclectic and refined interiors alike. The table is supported by a masterfully turned wood pedestal base, characterized by its dramatic curves and unique "bullseye" grain patterns that mimic the look of natural burl wood. Measuring 22.5x22.5x27.5 tall, it is perfectly sized to serve as an accent table or a distinctive drink table in a cozy reading nook. It remains in great vintage condition; the butterfly wing mosaic exhibits some age-appropriate distressing and delicate shifting, providing a beautiful, authentic patina that confirms its mid-century heritage.
