Description
A pair of vintage ceramic lidded urns, encrusted with an array of meticulously arranged shells, presents a distinctive decorative ensemble. Each urn, measuring 14.5 inches in height, features a harmonious blend of smoothly contoured ceramic forms embellished with a diverse collection of shells, ranging from delicate spirals to robust scallops. The arrangement of shells is artfully orchestrated, cascading down the urns' surfaces in a symmetrical design that captures the eye and adds a tactile dimension to the pieces. The light glaze of the ceramic base provides a serene backdrop, enhancing the natural tones and textures of the shells. The lids are similarly adorned, crowned with a central shell finial that echoes the urns' detailed ornamentation. Despite their vintage origins, the urns retain their original finish, exhibiting minor surface wear limited to the base edges, which is consistent with age and adds to their authenticity without detracting from their visual appeal. The shell embellishments remain securely attached, a testament to the careful craftsmanship involved. This pair of urns offers a glimpse into the skillful integration of natural materials with traditional ceramic techniques, creating a set that is both artful and enduring in its charm.
