Description
A pair of vintage bronze candelabras featuring elegantly cast winged sphinx figures, embodying an air of neoclassical revival style. Each piece stands at 9.5 inches tall, with a robust form that showcases the sphinx figures seated gracefully upon circular bases. The bases are adorned with a subtle geometric border, adding an understated decorative element that complements the central figures. The bronze exhibits a richly developed verdigris patina, lending the pieces an authentic aged character. This patina, a mix of green and blue hues, accentuates the detailed casting of the winged sphinxes, highlighting their serene facial expressions and finely detailed wings. The original finish shows minor surface wear consistent with age, while oxidation spots enhance the antique appearance, reflecting their storied past. Structurally, the candelabras maintain integrity, with no visible repairs or losses. The candle holders themselves display a flared design, allowing for a secure fit for candles. Overall, these candelabras are a testament to skilled craftsmanship, merging classical motifs with the timeless appeal of aged bronze.
