Description

A vintage painted ram bust rendered in plaster, showcasing a robust yet whimsical form. The piece exhibits a textured surface with a muted palette of earthy browns and greys, lending it a rustic charm. The sculptor has captured the essence of the ram with a somewhat stylized approach, evident in the exaggerated curves of the horns and the subtle expression on the face. Close examination reveals age-appropriate wear that adds character to the bust. Notable chipping is present around the nose, giving the ram a sense of past life and history. Minor surface abrasions are consistent with its age, contributing to a well-established patina. The finish is matte, with some areas showing slight gloss due to handling over time. Structurally, the bust is sound, with dimensions measuring 11 inches in width, 8.25 inches in height, and 11 inches in depth, making it a substantial decorative piece. Despite the signs of age, the piece remains stable, offering an intriguing blend of artistic craftsmanship and the natural passage of time. The attention to detail in the sculpting, alongside its enduring stability, makes this bust a distinctive piece for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage decor.
