Description

This captivating vintage studio pottery vase is a masterclass in textural contrast and organic form. The vessel features a striking bi-tonal glaze application: a deep, matte charcoal base with a subtle dimpled texture, topped by a vibrant, mottled cerulean blue glaze. The upper portion possesses a "fat lava" quality, spilling over the midpoint in thick, organic drips that create a compelling visual narrative. It perfectly embodies the Brutalist and Wabi-Sabi influences prominent in late 20th-century artisanal ceramics, celebrating the beauty found in handcrafted imperfection. Ideal for an earthy minimalist mantel or as a standout piece on a mid-century sideboard, this vase measures 4.5” in diameter and stands 8.25” tall. Its tapered silhouette and complex finish offer a sophisticated, sculptural presence that elevates any curated interior or gallery wall arrangement. This authentic vintage item is in great condition, exhibiting minor surface scuffs and gentle firing variations appropriate to its age. These characteristics serve as a beautiful patina that confirms its unique handcrafted heritage. Add this soulful ceramic treasure to your fine art collection today.
