Description

A set of six vintage Minton Majolica oyster plates, crafted from ceramic and showcasing the vibrant turquoise glaze characteristic of the late 19th to early 20th century. Each plate features a central well surrounded by six oyster-shaped depressions, elegantly balanced with their delicate turquoise hue and accentuated by intricate majolica detailing in earthy tones. The outer edges are adorned with subtle, raised patterns that enhance the visual texture and highlight Minton's renowned craftsmanship. The original glaze remains remarkably intact, displaying vibrant colors that capture the essence of majolica ware. Minor crazing, consistent with the age of the pieces, adds a touch of authenticity without detracting from their overall aesthetic appeal. The plates exhibit no visible chips or cracks, with edges and surfaces well-preserved, suggesting careful use over the years. Their dimensions, measuring 9 inches in diameter, contribute to their substantial yet graceful presence. These oyster plates exemplify the period's decorative artistry while serving as functional tableware.
