Description

Crafted from richly grained mahogany, this vintage military campaign desk embodies the functional elegance typical of 19th-century officer's field furniture. The desk's rectangular form is supported by distinctive sawhorse-style legs, adding both stability and a touch of utilitarian charm. The original finish showcases a warm, inviting patina, enhanced by minor wear that speaks to its storied past. The wood grain is notably straight and fine, adding to its sophisticated appearance. Brass hardware, including flush-mounted drawer pulls and corner brackets, exhibits age-appropriate tarnish, imbuing the piece with character and authenticity. The five drawers, each smoothly operating, provide ample storage, and feature visible dovetail joinery, a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. The top surface is adorned with a green leather writing area divided into three sections, subtly embossed, offering an ideal workspace with historic flair. Overall, the desk is in very good condition, with light scuffs and minor surface scratches on the legs and edges that do not detract from its overall appeal. Measuring 60 inches in width, 29.5 inches in height, and 30.25 inches in depth, it offers substantial presence and functionality, making it a distinguished addition to any setting.
