Description
A vintage Majolica leaf and blossom pitcher crafted from ceramic, exemplifying the intricate artistry typical of late 19th to early 20th-century European pottery. The pitcher features a masterfully applied original glaze, showcasing a vibrant palette of greens, pinks, and browns. The design is characterized by a lifelike depiction of cascading leaves and delicate blossoms, artistically embossed on the surface, with a handle shaped like a naturalistic branch. These elements create a textured surface that captures light beautifully, enhancing the vividness of the colors. The piece measures 6.25 inches in width, 6 inches in height, and 5 inches in depth, offering a substantial presence suitable for both display and functional use. The condition is notably very good, with the original glaze remaining intact and vibrant. There is minor age-appropriate crazing, a testament to the piece's vintage character, yet it remains free of chips or cracks. Slight wear is visible on the base, consistent with age and gentle use, adding to its authentic charm. Overall, this Majolica pitcher exemplifies the period’s attention to detail and skill in ceramic craftsmanship, making it a distinguished addition to any collection of decorative arts.
