Description
A vintage Majolica lidded bowl, crafted from ceramic, exemplifies the vibrant and whimsical designs characteristic of this pottery style. The piece is artfully modeled to resemble a bundle of bamboo, adorned with a prominently textured green leaf motif that wraps around its circumference. The original glaze remains remarkably vibrant, featuring a rich palette of earthy browns and lush greens, indicative of the piece's quality and well-preserved nature. The bowl boasts two handles and a lid, each meticulously shaped to mimic the natural curves of bamboo stalks, adding to its organic aesthetic appeal. The lid's handle is particularly notable, echoing the rustic charm of a twisted bamboo shoot. Minor age-appropriate crazing is present, enhancing the bowl's vintage character without compromising its integrity, as there are no visible chips or cracks. Measuring 5 inches in width, 4.5 inches in height, and 4.25 inches in depth, the bowl is compact yet striking, suitable for display or functional use. Its condition, marked by typical wear consistent with age, underscores its authenticity and charm as a well-maintained example of Majolica pottery.
