Description
A vintage magazine rack crafted from clear Lucite and aluminum, shaped in the whimsical form of a turtle. The Lucite body is gracefully curved, forming a spacious and transparent compartment for organizing reading materials. Its clarity is notable, free from discernible scratches or clouding, highlighting its excellent preservation. The aluminum components, forming the turtle's head, tail, and legs, display a finely textured surface with a consistent silver finish. The detailing on the turtle's head and limbs is distinct, featuring a scale-like pattern that adds a touch of playful realism to the piece. The finish on the metal parts remains intact with no signs of tarnish or damage, suggesting careful maintenance over the years. Measuring 18.75 inches in width, 10.76 inches in height, and 11.75 inches in depth, the rack's dimensions make it a practical yet eye-catching accessory. The juxtaposition of materials—transparent Lucite with the metallic sheen of aluminum—embodies the playful and innovative design sensibilities of the mid-20th century. In very good condition overall, this piece offers both functionality and a charming aesthetic, making it an appealing addition to any vintage or contemporary setting.
