Description
This exquisite set of ten vintage crescent-shaped salad plates is a masterwork of Italian folk art from the legendary Solimene studio in Vietri sul Mare. Renowned for their vibrant Maiolica pottery, these plates feature a charming hand-painted bird and botanical motif in a rich Mediterranean blue, accented with rustic red and green details. The unique crescent or "bone plate" silhouette is both elegant and functional, originally designed to fit neatly alongside traditional dinner plates, making them a perfect choice for serving appetizers, salads, or as a whimsical addition to a coastal-inspired tablescape. Hand-crafted with artisanal care, each plate in this collection displays the subtle variations and brushwork that define authentic Italian ceramics. Individual plates measure 9.5” wide, 6.75” deep, and 1.25” tall. They are in great vintage condition, exhibiting minor glaze pops and slight surface blemishes consistent with their age and handmade nature, which adds a beautiful patina of character to the set. This rare service for ten is a definitive find for collectors seeking to infuse their dining experience with the warmth of the Amalfi Coast. Secure this charming set for your collection today.
