Description
Crafted with precision, this vintage inlaid wood decorative box embodies the artistry of marquetry with its intricate geometric patterns. The box features a rich combination of woods, prominently showcasing ebony and other contrasting hues that create an engaging visual tapestry. The marquetry work on the lid is particularly striking, with a central star motif surrounded by a series of concentric designs that exhibit the vibrant coloration and craftsmanship typical of this vintage style. The box is accented with brass hardware, including original hinges and a functional clasp, which complement the warm tones of the wood. The edges reveal slight wear, and minor surface scuffs are present, all consistent with its age and adding to its character. The sides feature alternating bands of wood, enhancing the visual complexity and showing careful attention to detail. Measuring 5.25 inches in width, 2 inches in height, and 4.25 inches in depth, the box is a compact yet substantial piece. Its proportions and design suggest a European influence, consistent with mid-20th century decorative arts. The overall condition is very good, with the inlay maintaining its vibrant allure, making it both a functional and visually appealing collector's item.
