Description
Crafted from ceramic, this vintage mug by Keele St Pottery features a charming hand-painted hunting scene, embodying mid-20th-century English craftsmanship. The mug’s surface showcases a vivid tableau of a hunter in motion, accompanied by a loyal dog, rendered in lively hues that retain their vibrancy. The mug’s handle, designed to mimic the texture of antler, adds an intriguing tactile element, enhancing its rustic appeal. The piece is glazed in a smooth, glossy finish, with minor age-appropriate crazing that speaks to its history without detracting from its visual impact. The hand-painted details are executed with skill, capturing the dynamic interaction between hunter, dog, and the surrounding nature scene. The base reveals light surface wear consistent with gentle use, yet remains free of chips, cracks, or repairs, attesting to its well-preserved condition. This Keele St Pottery mug measures 4.5 inches in both height and width, with a depth of 3.5 inches, presenting a substantial form that balances both aesthetic and functional considerations. The underside bears the original mark, confirming its authenticity and origin in England. A delightful addition for collectors of vintage ceramics or enthusiasts of hunting-themed decor.
