Description
A pair of vintage giltwood wall mirrors, each showcasing an elaborate rococo-inspired design, crafted from mirrored glass and richly gilded wood. The frames exhibit intricate carvings with a lively array of scrolling acanthus leaves and floral motifs, consistent with mid-20th-century decorative arts. The giltwood reveals a lustrous patina, indicative of careful age, with some minor chips and scuffs that harmonize with the piece's vintage character without detracting from their visual appeal. Each mirror is framed in a slender, elongated form, measuring 11.25 inches in width and 24.25 inches in height, with a modest depth of 4 inches. The carvings are executed with precision, providing a dynamic texture that captures light and shadow, enhancing the mirrors' ornate quality. The glass is intact, offering clear reflection, and is securely mounted, ensuring structural integrity. These mirrors, with their opulent gilding and detailed craftsmanship, are evocative of a refined aesthetic, making them suitable for a sophisticated setting. The condition is very good, with wear that is consistent with age, adding to their allure as decorative objects that speak to the elegance of an earlier era.
