Description
This magnificent Victorian Eastlake style bedframe is a masterclass in late 19th-century architectural furniture. Crafted from rich walnut, the headboard and footboard showcase spectacular diamond-matched (book-matched) veneers that create a hypnotic geometric focal point. The design is further elevated by intricate hand-carved details, including a scrolling foliate crest and stately fluted columns topped with ornate acorn finials. This piece perfectly embodies the Eastlake movement’s departure from heavy Rococo curves in favor of structured, dignified ornamentation, making it a commanding addition to any traditional or eclectic bedroom suite. Ideally suited for a guest room or a sophisticated primary suite, this three-quarter size bed offers more width than a standard twin for added luxury. The frame measures 48.5" wide and features a mattress depth of 73", with a headboard height of 60.25" and a footboard height of 47". It remains in great vintage condition, exhibiting a handsome, age-appropriate patina and minor surface character marks that underscore its historical charm. The structural integrity is excellent, with original side rails standing 16" high. Bring a touch of Gilded Age opulence to your home with this rare and beautifully preserved artifact.
