Description

A vintage decorative box crafted from coconut shell, wood, and lacquer, displaying an intriguing geometric design. The exterior is adorned with a coconut shell inlay, showcasing a rich, deep brown hue that contrasts beautifully with the lighter wood beneath. The lacquer finish is distinguished by a developed patina, evident in the delicate crazing that speaks to its age and careful preservation. The box measures 10.25 inches in width, 2 inches in height, and 3.25 inches in depth. The overall structure is sound, with the coconut shell inlay remaining intact and meticulously set. The lacquer's reflective surface adds visual depth, while the crazing enhances its vintage character without compromising its integrity. Elegant in its simplicity, the box's clean lines and understated form make it a versatile piece. The harmonious blend of materials and the expert craftsmanship involved in its creation suggest a mid-20th-century origin, likely intended as a decorative object or for storing small personal items.
