Description

This exceptional pair of table lamps by the renowned manufacturer Chapman showcases a sophisticated blend of organic texture and mid-century luxury. Dating to the late 1970s, each lamp features a meticulously crafted basketweave body rendered in gleaming brass strips, creating a stunning play of light and shadow across its sculptural, ginger jar-inspired form. The design is anchored by elegant bamboo-style accents along the shoulders and a classic domed lid, reflecting a chic Chinoiserie influence that was a hallmark of high-end interior design during this era. These lamps represent the pinnacle of Chapman's commitment to material quality and timeless, authoritative craftsmanship. Standing at 14.25 inches wide, 6.75 inches deep, and 20.75 inches tall, these lamps are perfectly scaled for a grand console table, a library desk, or as a symmetrical statement on bedside chests. Their slim profile makes them particularly versatile for shallow surfaces in a foyer or hallway. Both pieces are set upon minimalist black plinth bases, providing a sharp modern counterpoint to the warm, lustrous brass tones. They remain in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting minor surface scuffs and a rich, authentic patina that only adds to their storied character. Bring a layer of warmth and refined texture to your collection by acquiring this rare Chapman pair today.
