Description
A vintage decorative box crafted from burl wood and brass, exhibiting a striking and intricate grain pattern that showcases the natural beauty of the burl. The box's top surface is accentuated by a central brass handle with a finely detailed design, adding a touch of refinement. The brass keyhole escutcheon on the front complements the overall aesthetic, with a rich patina that speaks to its age and history. Although there is an area of missing trim, this does not detract from the piece’s visual appeal but rather adds to its vintage charm. The original burl wood finish has developed a rich patina, indicative of its age, with minor surface scuffs and light wear mostly visible on the edges. These imperfections lend authenticity and character to the piece. The box rests on four small wooden feet, providing subtle elevation and a balanced stance. Brass elements, including the hinges, remain intact and functional despite their aged appearance. Measuring 14.25 inches in width, 7.75 inches in height, and 6.5 inches in depth, this decorative box is both a practical storage solution and a distinctive decorative object. Its elegant proportions and craftsmanship make it an appealing addition to any collection or space appreciating vintage artistry.
