Description

A vintage brass sculpture depicting a pair of dolphins in a dynamic, arched pose, capturing a sense of playful movement and grace. The piece is crafted from solid brass, evident in its substantial weight and the rich, warm tone of the metal. The original brass finish exhibits a natural patina, with areas of tarnishing that speak to its age and authentic character. Minor surface scratches and small areas of discoloration are present, yet these do not detract from the overall visual appeal, adding a layer of historical charm instead. The sculpture stands at 16 inches in height, with the dolphins elegantly balanced on a stylized base that suggests the fluidity of water. Each dolphin is rendered with elongated bodies and distinctively pointed snouts, illustrating a stylized interpretation rather than a strictly realistic one. The patina varies subtly across the surface, with a gentle sheen that catches the light and highlights the sculptural form. Structurally sound, the piece shows no signs of repair or loss, maintaining its integrity over time. This sculpture serves as both a decorative object and a testament to mid-century artistic techniques in metalwork, appealing to collectors and admirers of vintage nautical themes.
