Description
Pair of vintage lidded ceramic jars featuring a classic blue and white palette with intricate floral and foliate motifs, consistent with late 20th-century decorative styles. Each jar stands on an elegantly scalloped base, the form reminiscent of traditional Chinese ginger jars, yet with a contemporary twist. The vibrant cobalt blue designs are offset by the striking gold-plated finials, which take the form of stylized animals, adding a whimsical touch to the otherwise traditional pattern. The ceramic surfaces exhibit a lively glaze, with minor age-appropriate crazing that enhances their vintage appeal. The gold-plated elements atop the lids remain intact, showing slight tarnishing that is typical for pieces of this era, adding to their character without detracting from their visual impact. Both jars are structurally sound, with no visible chips or cracks, offering an impressive decorative presence. Measuring 20 inches in height and 11 inches in diameter, these jars possess a commanding stature, ideal for display in a variety of settings. Their decorative elegance is matched by their robust construction, making them both a visual and tactile delight. These jars encapsulate a blend of tradition and playful artistry, suitable for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage ceramics.
