Description
A pair of vintage biomorphic slab-built ceramic lamps, crafted in a fluid, organic form that evokes mid-century modern sensibilities. These lamps showcase a hand-formed aesthetic, with their undulating surfaces and asymmetrical silhouettes that capture the spontaneity of the artist's hand. The ceramic bodies are finished in a soft, muted glaze, predominately white with subtle pink undertones, resulting in a marbled effect that enhances the sculptural quality. Brass components crown each lamp, exhibiting a light, age-appropriate patina that complements the ceramic. The harp and socket assembly, with its warm brass tone, provides a harmonious contrast to the ceramic forms. Minor surface irregularities present on the metal are consistent with handcrafted production, adding to the uniqueness of the piece. Standing at 20.25 inches in height, these lamps are both structurally sound and visually striking, ready to be the focal point of a room. The lamps' dimensions and design make them suitable for diverse settings, from atop a credenza to flanking a modernist sofa. Their distinctive form and subtle coloration ensure they will be a conversation piece, a testament to the enduring appeal of handcrafted mid-century design.
