Description

A vintage abstract glazed ceramic plate crafted from stoneware, featuring an expressive and dynamic glaze application. The plate's surface is adorned with a sweeping abstract design, where a warm ochre glaze elegantly merges with deep, moody browns, creating a captivating contrast against the lighter stoneware background. The glazes exhibit a fluid motion across the plate, interacting harmoniously with the naturally textured surface, which showcases concentric circles radiating from the center, adding depth and character. The form is notably round with slightly raised edges, providing both aesthetic appeal and functional utility. The underside remains unglazed, revealing the fine stoneware clay body, which complements the rich glaze palette. The edges are smoothly finished, indicating careful craftsmanship and attention to detail. In excellent condition, the plate's glaze remains intact, showing no chips, cracks, or repairs. The even patina and original finish suggest a well-preserved piece, suitable for display or collection. Measuring 11.25 inches in width and 1.25 inches in height, it is a striking representation of mid-century ceramic artistry, embodying the organic and tactile qualities cherished by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
