Description

The Vintage 1913 Wooden Tramp Art Cabinet presents a charming example of early 20th-century folk craftsmanship. Constructed from wood with a rich, original finish, this piece showcases the distinctive notched and layered carving typical of tramp art. The intricate geometric patterns lend a textured complexity to the cabinet's surface, accentuating the patina that speaks to its age and history. The year "1913" is prominently carved into the top, flanked by initials "J" and "D," adding a personalized historical touch. The cabinet features intact glass panels, framed by the detailed woodwork, which remain clear and free from cracks. These panels, tinged with a subtle green, provide a glimpse into the cabinet's interior while complementing the deep tones of the wood. Metal hinges and fittings, with a well-preserved finish, ensure functionality while contributing to the overall aesthetic. Measuring 14 inches wide by 25.75 inches high, with a depth of 8.25 inches, this cabinet is perfectly proportioned for display. Minor surface wear and scuffs on the wood frame are consistent with its age and use, enhancing its vintage character. This piece is a testament to the resourceful artistry of its era, making it a compelling addition for collectors and enthusiasts of tramp art.
