Description
A pair of mid-century modern lounge chairs crafted from rattan, designed in the distinctive style of Paul Frankl. These chairs exemplify the iconic curved form and linear aesthetic that Frankl popularized in the mid-20th century. The rattan is arranged in five bold strands, creating sweeping curves that form the arms and base, intersecting with vertical slats in the backrest for a striking visual rhythm. The original rattan finish retains a warm, even patina, adding a sense of timeless character while highlighting the natural grain and texture of the material. Minor surface wear and scuffs are present, consistent with vintage rattan, yet these chairs remain in very good condition, structurally sound and ready for use or display. The craftsmanship showcases meticulous joinery, with the rattan expertly bound and integrated, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. Measuring 32 inches in width, 31 inches in height, and 21 inches in depth, these lounge chairs are both substantial and elegant, providing comfortable seating with a distinctive mid-century flair. Their sculptural form and organic materials make them a versatile addition to interiors seeking the charm and innovation of 20th-century design.
