Give a statement piece room
A bold mirror, sculptural table or decorative cabinet can carry a room. Start there and keep nearby shapes simpler. Repeating a metal tone or a curve in one smaller accent can make the arrangement feel considered without creating a matching set.
Check reflective surfaces closely
Review photographs of mirror edges, glass tops, plated metal and lacquered finishes. Ask about scratches, chips, clouding, replacement glass and repairs that are not clear in the photographs. Consider how the piece will look in your room’s lighting.
Separate style from attribution
A glamorous finish or familiar silhouette does not identify a maker. Compare the listing’s attribution with any pictured labels, signatures and construction details. “After” and “in the style of” describe a relationship to a design, not confirmed authorship.
