Layer texture with breathing room
Choose a woven chair, an open-frame table or a textured lamp as your starting point. Combine it with quieter upholstery and a few natural accents. Leave space between statement objects so shells, sculptural forms and patterned surfaces can each be appreciated.
Know the material
Read the listing to distinguish rattan, bamboo, cane, wicker and carved wood. Inspect wrapping, joints and woven panels for wear or repairs. Ask about finish condition and care before placing a vintage piece near strong sun, humidity or an open window.
Confirm placement and scale
Measure your seating group and delivery route before ordering. For large mirrors or wall art, check weight and hanging requirements. Use furniture outdoors only when its construction and condition support that use; a beach-inspired appearance alone is not enough.
